Improv Summer Camp? In SW Portland? For Middle Schoolers? YES!

Friends,

If you're getting this email, then you've got a kiddo about to be in Middle School. So I wanted to let you know about a one-week improv camp at Change Through Play, my Improv Studio in the SW PDX neighborhood of Raleigh Hills.

I've been acting professionally in film, TV, and commercials for over 30 years. I've been improvising professionally just as long. I founded my improv Studio in 2019 so I could bring my decades of experience to folks here on the West side of Portland. For me, improv isn't just a tool to be funny: it's a set of important life skills that teach confidence & creativity in deeply powerful ways.

In July, we're running two different one-week Improv Camps, and one is geared for middle schoolers and runs 10am-1pm. Both camps are designed to help our young people build confidence, collaboration skills, creativity, and connection in a supportive, laughter-filled environment. During the week, participants will:

  • ✅ get out of their comfort zone (in the best way)
  • 👭🏼 make new friends
  • 👣 learn to think on their feet
  • 💪🏼 build real confidence through play

Unlike other camps where we've sent our own kid, both of our camps are limited to just 10 participants in order to create a close-knit, welcoming space where every student is seen and supported.

Early registration just ended and we've now got just six spaces open for middle schoolers. We'd love your kiddo to be one of them. Thank you for considering us this Summer!

For Middle Schoolers:

CAMP IMPROV

Camp Improv is a one-week summer experience where middle schoolers can play, laugh, and build real confidence in a fun, supportive space.

Through high-energy games and guided scene work, campers will learn to think on their feet, collaborate with others, and express themselves with confidence (no acting experience needed!). Whether your child is outgoing, shy, or somewhere in between, they’ll find a welcoming community and a whole lot of joy here.

For High Schoolers:

SUMMER IMPROV WORKSHOP

Our Summer Improv Workshop is a one-week experience designed for high schoolers ready to play, laugh, and grow their confidence in a supportive, high-energy space.

Through dynamic games and scene work, students will learn to think on their feet, collaborate, and express themselves with confidence. By the end of the week, students will create and perform fully improvised scenes together.

Whether outgoing, shy, or somewhere in between, this is a space to try something new, make friends, and discover the power of saying “yes.”
